Our professionals see a wide range of clients with various conditions. But, it is important any therapist you choose has pertinent professional experience to manage your particular condition.

Many therapists treat more than one client at a time. While one client is on a machine, they will see another with exercises. However, it’s important that you know that your therapist will be dedicating their time solely to treating you.

Sessions vary between assessment and treatments, may be 15, 30, 45 and 60-minute sessions. However, one-hour sessions are preferable to speed recovery.

After an initial assessment, your therapist should be able to provide either an accurate count or close estimate of how many sessions will be involved in your treatment.

During your first visit, we would be investigating your injury and functional difficulties, in order to develop your treatment plan.  As such, we may provoke your body and injury, creating a short-term increase in pain.  If you have any questions during or after any treatment, we always encourage clients to contact their primary therapist immediately to resolve any questions or concerns.

Yes, we shall strive to have you see one therapist. However, many of our clinics work in a multi-disciplinary fashion, and you might see several different therapists from different disciplines. There is nothing wrong with this practice. However, it should be made clear at the beginning of your treatment who is your primary therapist.

Therapy of any kind is not painful, although some do activate deep muscle tissue. As a result, you may feel some stiffness or soreness during the sessions and immediately afterwards. Any discomfort should be temporary, and you must remember that sometimes temporary pain may be a necessary step towards being permanently pain-free.

You may not be asked to take your clothes off but It’s advisable to dress in loose-fitting clothes. Your therapist will probably require access to the area of concern.  If your condition is on your lower body then wearing shorts might be ideal – therapy involves movement, wear clothes that allow you to move around without restrictions.

Cancellation and no-show policies vary from clinic to clinic. But it is recommended that you do so 4 hours to your treatment session to allow slotting another patient.

Therapy is a partnership between the therapist and the client. Your therapist should provide instructions on safety, best practices and exercises that you can do yourself between sessions. Adherence to exercises provided by your therapist can dramatically increase your recovery.

We suggest that you take your medication as prescribed by your medical doctor and pharmacist.  But feel free to ask your treating therapist this question at your next visit.
